The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published ensemble forecasts stating that hospitalizations and deaths related to COVID-19 are expected to decline over the next four weeks.
It predicts 740,000 to 762,000 reported deaths by November 6. This is the third week in a row of a projected decline in newly reported fatalities. The US has seen over 717,000 COVID-19 deaths, as per data from Johns Hopkins University. The forecast also predicts 500 to 10,100 new COVID-related hospital admissions by November 5. This is the fifth consecutive week of a projected fall. As of October 12, 64,332 patients were admitted to the hospitals with COVID-19, as per data from the US Health and Human Services.
